Steve and Herman crewed Merganser in the open boat race in very benign conditions, trying to keep up and overhaul an Albacore with a nice clean bottom. So as not to be acused of cheating, nothing was ejected off the boat, we competed in cruising trim. We did make on them with a benefical wind shift but were never in danger of overhauling them.
On handicap Stella Marie had 3rd place with Nemo second, and Steve Noble's Tideway, Apple, had first place. The handicapping system will always work against the Wayfarer, the higher placed the boat the more your handicap!
